I am talking about U.S. Steel, several thousand employees, they have already done the background screening, employment history, everything including the interview, they didnt say you will be hired they just gave me a paper and told me to go get the test, they do the hair test and the pee test, also how much do those test cost?

It depends on your area, but those amounts are for an individual off the streets. Companies have contracts with the drug testing facilities and get a better price... but they are still too expensive to pay for just for every applicant. I would say it's a good sign if they're sending you.

The drug test costs money, I would not send you unless I am ready to offer you the job. If the company is insanely huge, or it was a federal government agency, then they can afford to send all of their "short list" to take the drug tests.

These tests are not cheap so if they are sending you to take them I would guess they've decided to hire you and will as long as you pass the drug screen...

usually in big companies they require a drug test. it doesnt mean you will get the job, they will still look at the results and compare you with other potential employees.

I would not count on it, but it means they are looking seriously at you...I would not suspect that they are just nosey.....they will not spend money or time needlessly.......

I don't know how much they cost, but I know it's expensive. But, since company is investing the money on the test, then you should get the job as long as the results are okay.
