i had trouble sleeping so a friend gave me 3 night worth of the drug about a month ago. it would be a shame if it came up positive since im not a drug addict

Most prescriptions stay in your system for one week to be detected on a urinalysis. Unless you're applying for a government type job, chances are you won't have a hair folicule test done. They are too expensive for companies to use on potential employees, that's why they use urinalysis instead. Besides, since ambien is not a narcotic (not to my knowledge anyway), they probably won't need verification of a presciption.

It probably will turn up...........but i don't think anyone will think you are a drug addict????? Just tell them you had trouble sleeping for a few days which is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What shows up on your test depends on what they test for. Is Ambien an opiate? Sadly drug tests don't discriminate against junkies (addicts), they discriminate against the average user. How many drug addicts apply for jobs?

You should NEVER take medicines unless they are prescribed to YOU by a DOCTOR. What you and your friend did is ILLEGAL.
