If detected - she will have to be honest with her employer. If they want to keep her on, they will probably require routine testing from now on. It depends on your area, but those amounts are for an individual off the streets. Companies have contracts with the drug testing facilities and get a better price... but they are still too expensive to pay for just for every applicant. I would say it's a good sign if they're sending you.

Most likely she will be tested by the standard NIDA5 test, which is designed to pick up opiates (of which codeine is one).

Despite my bewilderment about how one "accidentally" takes a tylenol 3 with codeine, if she doesn't have a pattern of use, the total amount in her hair will be low, and she may be able to argue her case that it was a one-time thing, presumably for a legitimate reason.

You could try eaten as much fatty foods as you can for one day, as THC is absorbed by fat cat cells. The second fast and drink as much water and cranberry juice as you can, to flush out the fat cells full of THC. I have used that teqnique once, and it worked for me. I do not know how reliable it is, but I still have a job! Also, do not try niacine! It is very uncomforatble and you do not have time for it to work. If you have a local hemp shop in the city, they have piss test kits which clean your system out completely. They cost $60-$100 but well worth the money if you want the job done right. If you cannot get one of these kits I have heard of cranberry juice and lots of it will clense your system. Also try sweating a lot, maybe go for a bike ride or run and try to sweat a lot. Drink a lot of water and try to urinate as much as possible. The more you drain your body of fluids the better.

I think that the answer given by Bauercvhs is pretty right on. From what I've read, the standard fingernail test will evaluate use from 3-6 months past (i.e., not what's going on now). The tip of your fingernail is the oldest section. The newest part of your fingernail is near the cuticle. Assuming the test was taken from the tip of your fingernail, and if your nails are longer or grow slowly, it's possible this test reflects the THC in your system from several months ago.

As Bauercvhs suggested, for your follow-up test, if the sample will be taken from the fingernail tip, be sure your nails are clipped close. If the sample is a scraping, perhaps they can take it from the cuticle or close to the cuticle.

If you're being tested regularly as part of the custody case, you should familiarize yourself with the tests. If you have an attorney and can afford an expert to refute the testing method, that would be ideal. It really depends on what they're testing for -- recent use or previous use.

I couldn't find any information about false positives being caused by food, drink, or other ingested items. It could be lab contamination -- even reputable labs can miss on minute contamination. Is it possible to get a statement from the lab on their standard contamination levels for THC? How do they eliminate for cross-contamination of samples? The test result was positive but was it a strong or weak positive?

It could be slow metabolising of THC. Note that THC metabolises very slowly and can take 25-30 days to be clear. So if you stopped 10 months ago, THC may still have existed in your system 9 months ago. Theoretically, you should not be testing positive at this point, but it's possible.

They claim it was random, but the company had been trying to terminate the employee after they had missed work for (Dr.'s documented/required) illness. The employee gave the sample in the HR manager's office. 13 DAYS later they were notified that they tested pos. for methamphetamine(40ngs)amphetamines(negat... and 4 other drugs with smaller than cutoff level amounts showing, but negative on those drugs also. No chain of custody was given for this sample, and no explanation for the length of time it took. The results have no name of any MRO anywhere on the page, (nor any other info on who conducted/handled this test) The employee requested the sample be retested, at the time of dismissal, by way of union grievance, (which was ignored) The grievance also inquired whether the company would accept a hair follicle test as reliable, (also ignored) Is it possible this person truly does not use drugs?

Not likely that he doesn't use drugs. That test is pretty sensitive and employers usually use cheaper tests. They must have really wanted to prove thier point or they were concerned about a u/a for some reason (like he had a history of tampering).

OK. i am hoping from an answer from someone who actually works in some type of lab.....

first off, i have gone a year on probation, smoking 3 weeks out of 4 and still passed every test. all i did was take a napkin and get some bleach on it, then drop about 7 drops into a gallon jug of water. i drink that over the span of a day or so. if i felt like i needed more, i would do it again the next day. also, make sure to you 2 or 3 pisses out before going to the test. the first of the day are the dirtiest.

Most companies, when contracting to do drug testing order their tests in bulk. Price, obviously comes into play, because well.. everyone is cheap. So anyways although we have the capabilities to run a hair test fairly easily the chemicals involved are rather expensive compared to a urine analysis and thus not a normal method for a business to seek. A mouth swab test is not completely accurate, depending on what lab. There are no large companies that i know of that have periodic mouth swab tests.

As far as accuracy.. The results must be definitive for them to be reported as positive. So urine tests are actually semi unrealiable, that's why we require 30-45 ml at least. So that we can run up to 3 tests on them. And.. you are only reported as positive if you are over a certain limit, due to some natural occuring triggers in organic food. or if there has been a pattern of traces.

So, as far as a recommendation.. Don't smoke, but if you have too.. eat alot of food the day before.. It absorbs alot of THC and then commence drinking alot of beer.. a sample with a concentration over a certain limit will null the sample... lol.. but then again you'll pretty much have to be intoxicated when you donate. Or you can drink a ton of water untill your urine looks clear as day...

You should also ask if the test was a "confirmed positive" result...which means it was run again on the same sample and reviewed by a physician. You can fail. If you still have the hair that was in your folicles at the time that the pot was leaving your body(about 2 weeks after smoking) then you will fail. If you have alot of hair, get a really short haircut.

If hair grows at about .41 inches a month, times 3 that's about 1.25 inches of hair at the longest point. Get a crew cut. 1.25 inches is long for the top of a crew cut. It will grow back out and you will get your job.

Depending on what type of test it is...for urine test check out urine clear on the internet. This is clean urine that you could use for a drug test, it is not male or female specific. You need to heat it up but then it is ready to go. For blood test, I don't think there is anything you can do to pass that test. Also, a hair test is where they pull out strands from your head and test the folicle. There is really no way of beating that system either. Also for urine test, you can also get stuff at the health food stores (kinda expensive) that you drink, then you have to refill the bottle 2 times more and drink that down.

Stop listening to these pretensious idiots for a minute. First of all, the cost of a hair sample drug test is in the $10,000 range at minumum. If your taking a urine test, Go clean for as long as possible, but depending on your size a week should be long enough, products usually require at LEAST 48 hours. I am 6-3 280 lbs and I quit for almost 2 weeks. Go to your local 'head shop' and ask the people there for a detoxifying product. I took a drink called 'Valex' and got the strongest detoxifier they had because of my body size. Drink as much water as humanly possible until the DAY of the test. Dont drink too much on that day because it will wash out your urine. Follow the instructions on the product, usually they will say take one hour before test, piss 2-3 times. After that hour you have 4-5 hrs of being clean, but try to take the test within the 2nd hour. Oh, and the product tastes horrible so dont puke it up. Volia.
