Can you fail a drug test for over the counter sinus and allergie meds?

My cousin failed his hair test for amphedamines, claiming it must be the sinus and allergie meds he takes. These are regular over the counter meds, is this possible or is he BSing everyone?

He's full of crap. He got tested for amphetamines and they got him.

Yes

He is most likely telling the truth. He should have told the tester of any allergy medications that he was taking. I had a friend that ate a bagel every

morning for breakfast with cream cheese. She

ate one with sesame seeds the day that she was tested for her promotion. It almost cost her her job! Thank goodness we had all eaten together

in a diner that morning!

It's highly unlikely.

OTC's that include pseudoephedrine were pulled from the shelves a few years ago. Pseudoephedrine causes a number of physiological functions to increase in rate, including raising blood pressure. That can be dangerous to those with HBP to begin with, but it can be dangerous to a lot of other people as well. It does that because it's a derivative of ephedra, which is also known a ma huang, and is a type of amphetamine.

Your cousin needs help.
