How does the US Military do their drug test is it by urnine or hair sample?? because i want to join the US NAVY as a corpsmen in the medical feild, and will i also go into a combat if i join? and i do have a recurtiter also too.

It can be any. You're subject to random drug tests which can include blood, urine, or hair samples. That's why if you've done drugs it's best to just be honest and forthcoming from the get go. The normal method, however, is generally a pretty stringently regulated urinalysis

Also, as a corpsman there's a good chance you'll end up seeing some combat duty (although that doesn't necessarily mean you'll ever see bullets flying). Whatever your recruiter says, don't lie to MEPs, as that can be a fraudulant application (which is an other than honorable discharge... nearly the equivalent of a felony on your record)

Like everyone said, piss tests. But it isnt every couple of weeks. I've gone over a year with not having one but I've also have had to do 4 in a single week. I ran piss tests in the navy so I have some actual knowledge if you're joining the navy. They do command sweeps, by your SS#, by department, or even by division. They only test for the big drugs (cocaine, LSD, acid, pot, ecstasy) but if they believe you're doing something else then they'll test you separately for that (like steroids). They don't need to hair samples, it's too expensive. They don't even test every sample that goes through the lab. Most corpman don't go into combat, mainly just the ones attached to a marine unit. One last thing, don't believe everything a recruiter tells you and never trust an officer.

Well, before you join you have to go through MEPS... there they do a full Urinalysis... they sit you down in a briefing room at about 5am and ask everyone if they are clean... if your not, the best thing to do is get up and leave... the have a no harm no fowl policy... they also take your blood, but im not sure if they drug test that as well... i just joined the navy and im waiting to ship out... good luck with everything =]

Well at PT formation they call out some numbers usually 3 or 4 plus every new guy. If your SSN ends in one of the numbers called you fall out and prepare to take a UA test. Of course your not told about this so you have already pissed that morning before formation. So you drink lots of water and it never fails by the time your ready to piss so is everyone else and you end up holding it for ever. It sucks.

Well, if you have any doubts about passing the drug test, dont join until you know your clean. I havent touched any type of drug since I was around 17, I knew I would pass, but I still told the docs that I smoked a little weed a long time ago, as long as your honest, and are now clean, they dont say too much, unless you were a drug addict or something like that. But drugs in the millitary dont fly, I had a buddy who thought he was "good to go" after basic, and like an idiot started smoking dope everyday, and guess what? Hes out.

Usually you pee in a cup, but the catch is that when you first join, you are peeing in a cup several times the first few weeks. when you go to meps and you score high enough on your asvab tell your career counselor that you would like to be a corpman and i'm sure he will accomodate you. and will you go into combat? maybe you will, maybe you won't...who's to say.
